The mission of ALFA is to improve the lives and health of those affected by HIV/AIDS while preventing transmission through education and testing.   Their vision is to be the most effective HIV/AIDS resource to all people in the ALFA service area.  $20,000.00 funded to provide HIV/AIDS counseling, prevention, education and testing.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs are unique places created to offer programs and services that exemplify and actively practice Christian principles.  This is done in a way that causes recipients of our services to learn to admire the values, ethics and skills presented, and incorporate them into their own lives.  $26,000 funded for subsidies for the after-school and summer programs.

Dedicated to ensure that all children, ages birth through five, have the resources and the opportunities necessary for them to enter school healthy and ready to succeed.  $22,000 funded for the Imagination Library program which provides books to children ages birth to 5.

Provide lifesaving education through Health & Safety and Disaster service departments.  Work to increase the amount of blood donors in our area in order to meet a growing demand for blood in our hospitals.  Continually respond to local disasters such as house fires and provide immediate services for those families as well as deploy local volunteers to assist with disasters wherever needed.  Provides services to military families through Service to Armed Forces programs.  $22,000 funded for emergency/disaster services.

Offers affordable daycare to the Ridgeview community.  Give the children encouragement and direction toward physical development, social skills and emotional development.  $44,500 funded to provide childcare subsidies.

Council on Adolescents of Catawba County

Provides educational programming aimed at preventing adolescent pregnancy as well as prevention of suicide and other potentially harmful risk-taking behaviors.  Programs are available to parents of adolescents as well.  $36,500.00 funded to provide healthy youth education programs for teens and $36,000 for mentoring programs for at-risk youth.

The mission of the Eastern Catawba County Christian Ministry, Inc. is to bring together the resources of the Christian community to serve the people in need of crisis assistance, support and education, in response to God’s call.  ECCCM serves those who are in crisis.  Whether due to unemployment, under employment,  sudden personal crisis, or other extenuating circumstances.  ECCCM is a source of refuge in the storms of life.  $39,500 funded to provide crisis financial assistance for rent, utilities, fuel and pharmaceuticals.  $19,000 funded for the Crisis Assistance Coaching Program.

Offers transitional and permanent supportive housing for homeless recovering addicts, alcoholics, and formerly incarcerated people returning to our community from treatment programs and prison.  Exodus Homes has a comprehensive array of services to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents.   
$35,000 funded to assist with housing and transportation costs for unemployed homeless recovering and previously incarcerated adults.

Family Guidance Center

Specialized services for individuals and families experiencing the negative effects of anxiety, depression, divorce, stress, financial problems, domestic violence, child abuse, and other problems that threaten the stability of families.  $134,000 funded for the First Step Domestic Violence program to serve victims of domestic violence; $88,250 funded for Consumer Credit Counseling program to provide credit counseling assistance; $22,000 funded for sexual assault services and $94,500 funded to the Individual & Family Counseling program to assist in providing crisis counseling.

Provides resource center for financial assistance for those in need.  The Shelter of Hope for the homeless, and three Thrift Stores to provide clothing and furniture for those on a limited budget.  $35,500 funded for Shelter of Hope to support the homeless shelter and $26,000 funded to provide crisis financial assistance for rent, utilities, and fuel.

The Houston Transitional Living Center offers a supportive, residential, co-ed program for homeless, disadvantaged youth, providing them tools and opportunities to learn and practice successful independence.  This program is designed for seventeen to twenty-one year-olds who do not have the financial, academic, emotional, or behavioral skills necessary for independent living. $17,000 funded to provide a transitional housing program for ages 17-21.
